3rd Jan 2007 Water shut off New Years DayThe drop in pressure was caused by the back of the fire hydrant next to Westcroft being blown clean off. It was fixed on the same day as Anglian Water was contacted by over 10 residents, some of who had no water at all (because they are on pressurised systems). The engineer informed me that the isolating valve for Crowfield is broken in open position and that to turn off the water to facilitate the repair, he had to use the valve that also cut off water to Syresham (for the half hour water was totally shut off). Emergency numbers for Anglian Water are listed on this site under local services.

Maud was a school teacher at Syresham until her retirement in the early 1970's. She died at Clare House, Silverstone and was buried on Friday 13th January 2006 at St James Church, Syresham.
Maud who kept her house frugally cold would have enjoyed the fact that the heating broke down for her service on a cold and wet day.
